Classes at Elite Academy of Dance
Senior Girls in Class
Classes are held on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays. All classes are divided up initially by age group. Starting at Pre Primary for children aged 3 right through to our Adult classes for the over 30s. As children progress through the Grades classes will be split into Graded classes from about age 8 and above.
Each Grade is a building block and allows Dancers to progress within a controlled environment.
In order to give students maximum support, class sizes are kept small to allow for individual attention and correction.
All classes are carried out in accordance with Royal Academy of Dance standards and are taken by Royal Academy qualified teachers.
For anybody who wants to try Classical Ballet for the first time, do not worry if you have not tried Ballet before, some of our top Dancers only started at 13 and 14 years old.
On top of weekly Ballet classes, opportunities are available for further training, this can be done through private lessons on a one to one basis and is strongly recommended especially coming up to exam time. Further group lessons are also given coming up to Exam Time and for our Summer Show.
Each Summer we run a Summer School this year 2014, the students worked together and produced some dances for the Commonwealth Games.
On top of Ballet Classes at Elite Academy of Dance, there is the opportunity to audition for our Associate Programme- Alba Ballet. Ballet Classes are held every second Sunday and are geared to performance with Alba Ballet. The Sunday Ballet Classes are normally 4 hours long and are also taken in our Studio in Greenock.
